Montgomery has purchased, for L 17.250, Joblin's estate on Banks Peninsula, containing 2,511 acres of freehold and 923 aores leasehold, in addition to 6,000 sheep and a sawmill Cable advice (says the ' Preas') says that at the London wool sales in April greasy merino from the Mendip Bills Station realised 12Jd per lb, and front Leslie Hills 12d. MINING NOTES. The Reefton battery returns for the past week were:—Globe, 960z of amalgam from 165 tons; No. 2 Keepit-Dark, 208oz of amalgam from 60 tons; Wealth of Nations, llOoz of amalgam from 88 tons; Keepit-Dark, 440z of amalgam from 48 tons. The Upper Waipori Alluvial Gold Dredging Company, Limited, obtained 240z 3dwt 6gr gold for four days nineteen hours' dredging last week. Mr T. Oallender, secretary of the Sew Hoy Big Beaoh Gold Mining Company, has received a telegram reporting "cake lodged, 910z." The secretary of the Sandhills Company reports a return of 38oz of gold for last week's dredging.
