The amount of revenue colleoted at the Ouatom-bouse on goods cleared to-day for consumption was L 1.128 lis 2d. ~ MINING NOTES. Mr Francis Nicoll, manager of the Heroules No. 2 Gold Mining Oompany, Limited, telegraphs to-day to Mr 0. M. Mouat, seoreta*y, that he washed up yesterday, with the result thai: he obtained 360z 4dwt of gold of the value of L' 39 7s 4d. This is the first washing-up, and certainly may be considered very satisfactory, considering that no bottom has been cleaned. The manager of the Roxburgh Amalgamated reports for the week ending 25th inst. that, with the exception of a few hours ocoupied in extending the line of boxes and putting on fide tabl 38, No. 1 elevator has been continuously at work He has been rep'aoing the castings of No, 2 elevator, and expected to start it again on Monday last. He purposes starting a thir-d elevator shortly on the high ground, so as to ensure keeping two elevators constantly going in oase of the river risiog and flooding No. 1 padilock. He wires that he washed up on the 28th inst., and obtained 40£oz of gold, the result of Baven days' work with No 1 elevator. Mr W. H. Outten, dredge-master to the Wakatipu Dredging Oompany, telegnphed yesterday : "lOoz sdwt amalgam for seventy-eight hourß* dredging," THE LONDON MARKETS. /.'he New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oompany have received the following cablegram from their London office: —" Wheat: Market deolining owing to favorable harvest prospects. There 1b little Continental demand, New Zealand wheat, average, is worth 435, and New Zealand long-berried 45s per 4961b (nominal value); New Zealand wheat (f a.q., to arrive iron ship) is worth 43s 3d per 4801b (April bill of lading)."
