VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
In the Martini Sweepstakes Match, fired on Felichet Bay range on Christmas Day, twenty men competed. The following are the prize-takers : 200 500 UOO Ydß. yds. yds. Tl. Lieut. Hornby, P.C.N.A., 12s 9d 32 27 21 -80 A team representing the Dunedin Rifle Club visited Oamaru and fired a match against the local Martini-Henry Club on Christmas Day. The weather was fiae and excellent shooting was made by the local men right through the match, although the shooting at the 600 yards range was somewhat irregular. Mr Blyth, Mr Rule, and Mr Whyte scored well for Oamaru, and Mr Law for Dunedin made almost phenomenal shooting at the two first rangee, putting on out of eighteen shots (including sighting shots) seventeen bulls' eyes and an outer, 87 out of a possible 90. Two of the Dunedin Club's best shots were unable to get away at the last moment, but had they been present the result would not have been affected.
