Ihe Southland Frozen Meat Company will pay a dividend of 8 per cent. During toe past year they exported 45,000 cheep and lambs. A moderate business has been done in the import market during the past week. A good trade is passing In sugars, and price is firmer. The Umzinto arrived from Mauritius in the early part of the week, and we understand her cargo will be offered at auction on Tuesday. Sales are reported of currants up to i, sultanas 6Sd. There is a little more doing in kerosene; current quotation for high test is Is 71.d to is 9d according to brand. Fish is noticed. Salmon (ordinary packs) bring 9s to 10s; sardines —halves 8s 3d to 8s 6d, quarters 4s 9d to ss; fresh herrings, 6s 6d. Business in wines, spirits, and beers continues good. Cornsacks keep moving off up to dr. Coarse castor oil, 3s 7d; raw and boiled linseed, 8s Id and 3a 2d. Dressed rice is in good demand at L2l; Patna, L 22.

Telegraphic advice from the Sew Hoy B : g Beach Gold Mining Company, Shotovor River, received on Saturday evening, advises a yield < f 31oz amalgam for Friday and Saturday, and fur the previous two days a return of 32uz was obtained. Messrs Robertson Bros., of Cardrona, washed up recently—fo' eighteen days’sluicing getting the handsome yield of lOOoz of gold. The quantity of water used in tho claim was equal to_ about thirty miners’ inches, the owners boiog unable to obtain a larger quantity at the present juncture. Me-srs Robertson ho’d twelve acres of ground, of which area about a qu-rter of an aero has been operated upon, tho total yield of gold therefrom being fully2,oCooz, of an approximate value of L 7.500.
