A SUSPICIOUS DEATH.

AUCKLAND, June 25.

Mrs Sarah Crott, from Wade, consulted the Canadian doctors with the "golden chariot," now doing business here, and got a bottle of medicine from Madame Duflot. After taking the first dose on Thursday last, vomiting, with violent pains in the stomach, immediately set in, and continued till y9B- - afternoon, when she died. Dr Anderson was called in on Saturday, and prescribed medicine which gave her relief, but could not save her life. An inquest Is to be held to-day. Dr Rennje, on being interviewed, says that it could not have been the Canadian medicine the woman used that caused the trouble, as it is perfectly harmless, and he offers to swallow a box of the powder and to drink a 7s 6d bottle of the "perfumes," in public to-day. The death or the woman has caused excitement, as the people for two weeks have been raving about the miraculous cures effected by the Canadians.
