Mr James Sam-on reports having sold, in connection witli the fireworks display, refreshment booths 1, 2, and 3 to Mr John Ogg, ami grand stand booths 4 and 8 to Mr James Liston. Messrs J. A. Park and Co. offered by auclion to-day a number of shares held by the Public Trustee inthe estate of Mr A. Landeils, deceased, with the following remt:—Bail: New Zealand, Ll2 1s (Id and LI2 ; 200 Colonial Banks, L2 3s 91 ; Mosgiels, L? 7s ; Union Steam Ship Company, LlO Lis ; Keep-it-Dark, 20s and 18s; Welcomes, 14s. The rooms were crowded, and la on competition took place for Bank of New Zeal md and Colonial Banks. Harvesting operations are being vigorously advanced in the Tuapoka West district. The oat crop is unusually short, and, in places, pretty thin. The Blue Spur mine owners have been knocking about Lawrence during tho past two dais, ami many meetings and consultations have heeii held. Sir Uol ert Stout, as solicitor (or the Home syndicate, was expected to arrive in Lawrence last evening for the purpose of conducting the proceedings to a satisfactory issue, but did not come. We (Tuapeka Times) understand that the nego'iitione, though not definitely settled, are proceeding satisfactorily, and that the claim-owners will receive the required two-thirds of the purchase-money in cash immediately.
