Beresford was scratched for the Dunedin Cup at one o'clock to-day. Mr Stead's string comprising Gipsy King, Russley, Count D'Orsay, ai>d Matamata—in charge of Mason, are expected by to-night's train. Piper has Mr rlamiiiond's colt, Sultan, in charge, and the other arrivals were Mr Young's bolt Sir Julius and the Messrs Rutherford's horses, Raveusoraig, Derby, and Tornado. At the Forbury this morning there was a large turn out, and some interesting work was donfi. Torrent covered two miles on the course in really good style, the Fleur-de-Leys gelding brings ing the Cup horse home for the last round.
