(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright,! (Per Press Association.] DIVIDED RAILWAY INTERESTS. SYDNEY, February 17. (Received February 17, 1888, at 1.15 p.ui.) Since the Northern Railway line has been completed and through traffic established with Brisbane alterations have been made in the time-table, which the Newcastle people resent, alleging that the alterations interfere considerably with the trade of the place. Representation on the subject having failed to effect any change, the residents of the town and district of Newcastle have become very angry, and have been talking of forming a Separation League. The suggestion, however, has been negatived, and recently a Realisation League has been formed, with the avowed object of protecting the interests of the northern districts against those of Sydney.
