The weekly returns of the Bank of England published to-day show the total reserve fa notes and bullion to be L 14,070,000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities 45 per cent. , The copper market is weak and prices are declining. Chilian is quoted at L 74. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,360,000 quarters, and for the Continent 140,000 quarters. The arrivals of foreign flour are large, but the market has not improved. For new Australian crop, buyers are offering 33s 6d. The tallow market remains steady; 7,000 casks have arrived. Large quantities of Australian butter are , selling readily at 9Gs, but the market shows , a downward tendency.
