BEACH WORKINGS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Feeling interested in the discussion proceeding in your paper ou the above subject, I beg to ask your correspondent " Another Old Digger" to gi'e some further information about the Six-Mile and the Waikawa. Is the gold at those places diffused through all the beach sand, or is it found only in ecama ? And is all the gold tand at the former place taken up by the man who has secured all the water ? Also what facilities there are for obtaining supplies, supposing they can be paid for?—l am, etc., Unemployed. Duncdin, January 5.
to the editor. Slit—Thanks to " Another Old Digger" for speaking out. If the warning of experienced men does not stop this folly of placing old, broken down, and. untrained, men on bea.cn diggings, why, just let the Labor Bureau go ahead with the experiment. A few short months will prove who is right and who is wrong, and a good lonnd sum of the taxpayers' money will be spent in keeping some Government officials in amusement.—l am, etc., Old Digger No. 1. Dunedin, January 5.
