The Conference to-day disapproved of the principle of clauses 7 and 8 in the Auctioneers Bill. A deputation from the Conference will wait oj) the Premier to-morrow to lay the tesblutfons or" tho Conference before the Government. '" ' ' ' "' ' !
The following suggestions from the Napier Coumil were [considered:—lst, the hecessity of allowing Corporations to apply a fund deriy'eel from one reserve to t|ie improvement of other reserves' in' the' same municipality; 2nd, the necessity of further providing foi> thp gaje' pf' land to secure payment of rates; 3rd, provision for allow, ing municipalities to take over private streets although the same may not comply with tho presentrequirementsas to the width of streets; 4th, to provide that the proceeds of rates for speQ&l gurposefc, such, as water rates, may" bp deyoipoT fio'general' wjien any loan raised for Such paid off; Bth, to move for an amendment of the Municipal Corporations Aot, so that boroughs shall elect their own auditors, if so desired. Nos. 1 and 2 were agreed to.
