THE LAND BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held this day j present—the Chief Commissioner. Messrs Clark, Logan, Duncan and Dallas. Ranger Hughan reported on R. S. Murray s application for refund of timber license fees paid by him to cut timber in Awakiki Bush.Application declined. Mr Simpson, for P. Flannery, asked the Board to reconsider his application for section 8, block 11, Poolburn, on deferred paymeniß. Referred to Chief Commissioner to communicate with the Governor. The Board reconsidered R. M'DougaU's application to purchase three acres near Pembroke. —Previous resolution rescinded, the land being within the township reserve of Pembroke; land to be classified as suburban, so as to be offered at auction at L 3 per acre, with improvements added. R. J. Y- un; applied to lease part of section 7, block 9, East Taieri, at 5j per acre annual r°ntal.—Referred to ranger for report. J. C. Harrington wrote that he had sown a good deal of crop on his surrendered perpetuallease seotrns 11,12, and 18, block 4, Lauder, and asked for time to reap the same.—Banger to make valuation forthwith. \V. Johnstone's application for grazing rights over the township rwerve, Obatton, was declined ; that of R. Richardson, for sections 2 and 3, block 12, Benger, was referred to the Chief Commissioner. J. Lawson's application to purchase twentyfive acres of block 15, Maungatua, was doclined in the meantime. J. Halfca applied for fifty acres of the township reserve, Chatton. on deferred payments.— Applicant to furnish plan. R. M. Wools asked that perpetual - loaso section 14, block 1, Wendonside, surrendered by him, -be offered at Is per acre.—To bo re-offered. S. Low asked that deferred-payment seotion 8, block 10, Wendon, be made perpetual-lease land, at Ibperaore To be first re-offered on deferred payments. Mr Simpson, for J. Drummy, asked the Board to rescind forfeiture of small gr»zing run 244; rent to be paid immediately.—Previous resolution rescinded, tho applicant having tendered payment of arrears of rent. Samuel Ritchie was declared licensee of section 9, block 23, town of East Gore, at upset price of 14 10b per acre. Thomas Carmody was declared licensee of section 5, blook 25, town of East Gore, at upset price" of L4I(H per acre,,
