THE PRESBYTERIAN SYNOD.

The Synod resumed its sitting this morning. AGED AND INl'lfeM MINISTERS FUND. _; Regulations in connection with the aged and ipiirm ministers fund, as arranged by the Committee appointed for the purpose, were sent down as an, interim act. WIDOWS AND OBPHANB,' FUND ,The report of tilj: G. Leslie, in connection with the widows and orphan?' fund being brought under the provisions of the Friendly Societies' Act, was laid on the table, ordered to be printed, and to be sent down to Presbyteries, and the thanks of the Synod were accorded to Mr L: slie for his able report. THE DIVORCE BILL. Attention was called to the Divoroe Bill which it is proposed to bring into the House of Representatives, and the Rev. R. Sutherland moved a resolution expressive of the Synod's approval of the placing of husband and wife, on the same, footing with regard to adultery, but its disapproval of all the other proposals a i contrary to the marriage ordinance as a divine ordinanoe, and contrary to the teaohing of Scripture in regard to the grounds for divorce, and as undermining the family institution and the moral and sooial well-being of the community.

Dr Dunlop seconded the motion in an able speech. The motion was carried. DEPUTIES TO THE ASSEMBLY. The following members were appointed deputies to the General Assembly tif the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, which meets at Christchurch in February: -The Moderator, the Rev. G. B. Inglis, and Mr A. O. Begg. CHURCH EXTENSION CHARGES. In connection with Church extension charges, it was resolved that in the event of such charges being sanctioned, they may proceed to call a minister, but not earlier than one year after settlement as such charges. Ministers already inducted iu the charges to continue, with their consent, until the congregations resolve to proceed to call. NORTH DUNEDIN AND RiVKNSBOURNE. It was agreed that the application of the sustentation fund regulations to the congregations of North Dunedin and Ravensbcrurne be referred to the Presbytery of Dunedio, with power to act, in the event of a moderation in a call being sought. It was resolved that Queenstown be declared a summer station, and that arrangements be made for its supply by the ministers of the several Presbyteries—Dunstan excepted.
