CENTENARY FESTIVITIES. SYDNEY, October 27,
Sir Henry Parkes announced in the Assembly to-day the intention of the Government to issue invitations to the various Governors and members of colonial Parliaments, requesting them to attend the Centennial Celebration and Agricultural Show to be held in connection with the Celebration. It is also intended to hold a regatta, at which a Challenge Cup valued at LSOO will be offered for competition, and other prizes to the amount of L3OO will be given.
THE SOUTH SEA ISLANDS. SYDNEY, October 27. The latest news from the islands reports all quiet at Apia and Tonga.
THE SMALLPOX OUTBREAK. HOBART, October 28. (Received October 28, at 3 p m.) The patients now suffering from smallpox are progressing favorably.
