OUR VOLUNTEERS.

The L. Battery opened its shooting season on Saturday last by a match between the officers and gunners, at the range, Goat Island; ranges, 200 yards, standing ; 300 yards, kneeling ; and 500 yards, any position ; seven shots at each range. The light was very variable, while a heavy N.E. wind is quite sufficient to account for small scores. The officers proved the victors, the scores being: Officers, 850 ; gunners, 312.
