The am.ual general meeting of tho Warebousi men's Clu'i was held in the Shamr< ck Hotel on Monday. Hadfield obtained the towling average wi'h 5.31. Trie seond eleven showed great improvement on the previous year. The fifth anniversary of the Grange Club was held in the North Duncdin Drill-shed on Friday, and was well attended. The concert programme was r. good one, and Ravo thorough satisfaction. Misß Jones, who contributed two .'Ongs, has a nice contralto vnio <, which she u-es with taste, and being encored for "The Maid and the Mill' r," gave "Barney o'Hea " -Miss Thomson also contributed two numbers that proved very acceptable, and Mr Robertson's two 6ongs were heartily applauded. The serio-comic element was well represented by Messrs J. 15. Kirk and F. Wells, who were both encored. The former gave a new version of "Those lovely Black Kyes," which, being cricoid, was followed by " No : I couldn't" M/Wells's encor.! number was a decided improvement on his first venture. The dancers were in decided form, Master Yates giving a clogdai.cs. Two of the Darktown footballers had to sub-nit to an undeniable encore, and Mr Crawford being similarly complimented for his Irish jig, Before presenting the priz :s the chairman (Mr Cohen) a kfd thoso of the audience who were ratepayers to lend their interest in th.i direction of bringing pressure to bear on tho City Counciijto put|r,hp existing reserves into a decent state, and thereafter to invest a portion of them in o trust, in which the City Council would bo fully toprcsentcd, whose duty it would be to impro\e and maintain them Until this were done it would be hopeless to expect cricket, in the north end of the City to make any advance. During the past season the Grange Club had made a record of which ttiey had every reison to be proud. They had played fourteen mitches (eleven of them being homo, and <hallem:c cup) Of th -so latter they had won nine, tied in one, and lost on?. Of tho cup matches (done they had won seven, lost one, and tied in one. At Christmas they journeyed to Christchurch, where thiy two matches and won one. In tho Otago - Australian match tho Club wero represented b.v Messrs A. Grieve and P. Trumbull, and in the Otago-Canterbury match by Messrs vV. Cuson and W. Parker, who had upheld the credit of the Club in theso contests. Tne prizes, some of which wore of really pretty design, wore handed to the winneis as under:—Alfred Turnbull (a gold Maltese cross, the t ift of the president, Mr R L. Reynolds), for the bighest batting average 14.3 ; W. Carson (a bat, the gift ol Mr C:nnell), f«r tho second highest batting average 12.7 ; W. Parker (an eleotro-plated biscuit box, the gift of the vico-preaident, M r A. GeorgeJ, highest bowling average 4 '44; V. Tiirnnull (a eold cross, presented by vio -president ('. Norris) for his excellent bowling during the past five years; A. Downea (a silver medal, thi gift of Vice-president Wicks, and a silver pendant presented by Mr W. Langton), for being the best all-round man in the Club with a batting average of 9.7 and a bowling average of 5 32, and for making the highest batting average in the Canterbury matche?. General regret was expressed that serious illness pro.ented him from attending. A danc-. followed the conoert, and was well attended.

A meeting of (be Edcndale Club was hold at the Commercial Hotel on Friday evening. Twenty members were present, and Mr Crawford ccupied the chair. The report and balance-sheet ai read and adopted s-howed the Club to be in a very fair condition. During the past season fourteon matches were played, of which twelve were won and two lest. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—Proaident, Mr A. Swan ; vice-presidents, Messrs Ciawford and Low; captain, T. E. Downos; deputy ciptain, It. Hendry ; secretary and treasurer, P. Cannon; general committee—Dowiicb, Hendry, Cannon, M'Glashan, and Jay; match committee— M'Glasban, Cannon, and Swan.
