AUCKLAND, September 6.

The criminal session was opened this morning by Judge Ward. There are thirtytwo cases for trial; but none of them are of a serious nature.

WELLINGTON, September 6,

No less than three patients died at the Asylum on Saturday and yesterday. Death resulted 1 from natural causes in each instance, j They were all men, and none had been ill for any great length of time. The Premier of Victoria has cabled to Sir, R. Stout asking him to afford facilities for; disseminating information respecting the; Centennial Exhibition. The Government! have replied stating they will give every! opportunity for doing so, pending'the .decision of Parliament as to New Zealand’s; representation at the Exhibition.

M. \Vilaon, late proprietor of the Albion 'Hotel-premises, recently burned,; who filed his schedule after the fire, was: to-day committed for trial on a of. concealing a large amount of property from* the Official Assignee. The Archbishop' made astutable reply, sincerely thanking _ the laity, from whom he had always received valuable co- : operation. . ~ ; Over 35,000 rabbits have been tinned in the Boga Meat-preserving Works in about six weeks.
