HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF GOVERNORS.

The High School Board of Governors met this morning; present—Dr Stuart (in the chair). Professor Shand, Mr J. Fulton, Dr Brown, and the Hon. W. H, Reynolds. An application was received from Messrs Hislop and Craig, of Oamaru, on behalf of the lessee of section 16, block 24, Oamaru town, to surrender hit lease.—lt was resolved that the Board could not accept the surrender, but that they would reduce the annual rental by onethird.

A letter was received from the Chief Sur-‘ veyor enclosing a report from District SurveyorStraohan in connection with the proposed expenditure of L76613s 4d on Wyndham Valley road. —The matter was referred to a sub-com-mittee to consider and report on. Mrs J. Hardy wrote asking that the lease bf section 4, block 17, Oamaru, might be offered at auction.—lt was resolved to offer a seven years’ lease of the section. Accounts amounting to L 721 8s lOd were passed for payment.
