DRUIDISM.
A meeting of past officers of the Druidic Order was held at the Baldwin Hotel on Saturday evening. Pastarch Bro. I. Isaacs was voted to the chair, and called upon Past-arch Bro. A. H. Shelton to state the business of the meeting. From the statement of the latter it appeared that owing to District-president Bro. A. Morrison being unable to obtain the necessary leave of absence, it became requisite to ascertain whose services were obtainable and what sum of money could be raised towards the expenses of a representative to the Grand Lodge. After discussion, in the course of which much enthusiasm was displayed by the twenty-five past officers present in the cause of the District Grand Lodge for Canterbury and Otago, it was unanimously resolved that each one present should assist in raising a sufficient sum of money, and Past-arch Bro. G. S. Mathesonand P.D.P. Bro. G. Stokes are to be put in nomination. The meeting then adjourned for a fortnight, after passing a vote of thanks to the chairman.—Communicated.
