FATALITIES.
A sudden death occurred .at the White Horse Hotel last night. The dcceased'3 name was Thomas Chevalier Robinson, and he was about sixty years of age. At one time he was an officer in the Imperial Army, and occasionally received small remittances from Home. He has been well known of late in Dunedin as a hawker of newspapers and as doing odd jobs about hotels. Ho had been staying at the White Horse Hotel for the last six months, and the landlord, Mr Tooiney, on going to his bedroom at about eleven o'clock this morning, found him lying dead on the floor. Deceased was out yesterday afternoon, and returned to the hotel at o imii. m a state of intoxication ana weui to bed. On his way upstairs he fell down, but did not appear to have hurt himself. An inquest will be held to-morrow morning. GREYMOUTH, July 18. Thomas Maddock, a miner, accidentally shot himself under the ear with a gun, at the Greenstone yesterday afternoon, and died in a few minutes. WELLINGTON, July 18. The body of a man was found in the harbor today. It is supposed to be that of a fisherman who has been missing since last week.
