Our Wanganui correspondent wires : “The Herald’ to-night has the following paragraph : ‘ It is said that in the event of the VVaitotara scat being cut out by tho Representation Commissioners, the Hon, Mr Bryce will retire into private life. It is an open secret that for some time past Mr Bryce’s health has not been of tho best, and that, but for his duty to his party, he would have preferred to have given up politics some time ago.’ ” The ‘North Otago Times ’ states that Mr Hislop will seek re-election for Oamaru, and that Mr R.
