- CITY POLICE COURT.

Drunkenness. Thomas Robertson was convicted and discharged, Dikordhkly Behavior. John Maynes, Andrew Barclay, and Charles Freeman were charged with behaving in a manner calculated to provoke a breach of the peace at North-cast Valley on the 18th inst. Mr E, Cook appeared for Freeman,—The defendants were convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence when called on. John Marques was further charged with throwing a billet of wood, to the danger of persons and property.—The defendant was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Tjirhatkxing LANGUAGE.— Timothy Collins was charged by John Edward James with having, at Hawthorne, on the 25th ult., used threatening words with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.—Mr Macdonald appeared for the complainant, and Mr Solomon for the defendant.—The defendant was fined 10s and costs. IMPOUNDING.— Timothy Godins was charged on the information of Isaac Green with having illegally impounded thirteen horses and twelve head of cattle in the North Dunedin pound, and made excessive charges, whereby the complainant sustained L2O damages.
