The amount of revenue collected at the Customtv. roods cleared to-day for consumption was L!l9fsoJ. Although the trade generally still continues unsatisfactory, we have reason to hope ihat in fuiure it will be conducted on a much more sound basis. There lias been a great deal of reckless trading lately, and fl ms have been carrying on when they must have been aware they were losing money. The mercantile community, as a whole, are desi oug of upholding the dignity of commerce in its most legitimate form, and, although there must be so ue heavy losers, there will be a feeling of leliel when confidence is r« stored.— * Prio.-s Current’
