INTERPROVINCIAL CHESS MATCH.
Mr David E. Hay, chess editor of the ‘ Otago Witnesr,’ to-day recei.'ed|a friend.y challenge from Mr A. H. Todd, honorary secretary of the Canterbury Chess Club, Christchurch, to play a match at chess, by telegraph, with the playeis of Dunedin and suburbs. M r Hay has accepted the challenge, and we understand he will have no difficulty in getting a pretty strong team together. There will probably be from eight to ten players a-sidc, and the match is likely to take place in about a week’s time, or as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made.
