MISS WARD’S BENEFIT.
TO TBS EDITOB. Sir,—l see by the posters that Miss Genevieve Ward is to give the sleep walking scene from “ Macbeth ” on Tuesday night * and while aware that the limited number of her company prevents the representation of the whole tragedy, I would suggest that she should favor us with as much of the play as falls to the lot of the two principal characters, which would include the first meeting of the Thane and his wife, the murder scene, and several more of the grandest passages of the great play. This would give theDunedm public an opportunity of seeing Miss Ward s powers in a part worthy of her great ability. The giving the sleep-walking scene alone would make her auditors regret the shortness of the treat) while the omission of the farce which is to wind up the entertainment will readily be pardoned. Hoping that this may catch the attention of the powers that be and meet with favorable consideration—l am, etc., Playgoer. Dunedin, November 28.
