Several residents of Oamaru (remarks the * North Otago Times ’) have been more than usually fortunate in regard to the amount of money they receive as prizes out cf the various sweeps on the Dunedin Cup race. A gentleman connected with the shipping takes the first prize of LBOO in Cameron’s sweep, and a Thames street tradesman the third prize of L2OO in tie sane sweep. [There is some mistake about this.] la Harris’s sweep the gentleman who waa unfortunate enough to draw Natator in North’s sweep is consoled with the first prize, and the second prize falls to a well-known Boniface. Another, who is remarkable for the number of horses he draws—horsas which are invariably scratched shortly before tho race—drew Kamlwiok in Cameron’s sweep. His hopes were not fully realised, but the LIOO prize for a nonstarter is calculated to act somewhat aa a solace. It ought to be added that tho first prlas on the D, J.C, in Abraham’s sweep also went to Oamaru.
