Prime salt butter (new season), Is 6d per lb. The supply of fresh butter is coming in very plentifully, and many of the grocers are salting down large quantities, prices being still on the decline. Salt butter in kegs (new season), Is 4d per lb, but, at that price, with little or no demand. Good cheese is scarce, and nothing but the best, quality will sell at lOd to Is per lb. Side and rolled bacon, Is per lb ; Colonial hams, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb ; beef hams, 9d ; English hams are not much in demand at Is 4d to Is 6d per lb. Eggs still very plentiful, and retailing at Is 3d to Is 4d per dozen. Is Id. Cheese, 9d. Auckland, November 6.—There is the usual sunply of fat cattle, but prices are lower, 25s to 32s 6d per hundred lbs. Fat sheep sold at last week’s sales, 4d to 5d per lb ; half-bred hoggets, low condition, 13s to 15s; lambs, 9d to lOd.
