Sir, — The stamp duty on cheques and receipts is shortly to cease, and the original penny impost to bo reinstated. The taxers would do well to stick to what they have already done, as I fancy the good public are too well up in the saroir faire of evading the tax to trouble themselves about being in “ duty ” bound by any Act which annoys them.—Yours, &c.
