The principal matters discussed were the old Panuitianga Kuti Ruiri telegraph, roads, Jrc. Nothing decided was done last night. A letter was received from Ngapuhi, demanding the murderers of Mr Todd, this morning. The Friendlies were detained to discuss the question. Neither Manuhiri nor Tawhaio took part iu the meeting. Manga and Kaihnana WMuvuui were the principal speakers amongst the Kiugites. There will he another meeting shortly, to which the Governor is invited, September 23, 10.10 a.m. The Native meeting has concluded. Ngapuhi’s letter, which was read yesterday, caused no discussion. Mr Todd’s murdererevs have not been given up. The Friendlies are returning to their homes. Auckland, Sept. 23, In consequence of an article in the Evening Star , Samuel Wavriu horsewhipped its reporter, Utting, who not being the writer, accepted humble apology, which settled the case on the following day. —Melville Walker struck Brett of the Herald on the chin, when the latter retaliated, knocking Walker’s tooth out and thoroughly beating him. Walker was fined LlO, and hound over to keep the peace. Fiji advices report that Capt. Marion Penney was speared by the Natives. The Herald insinuates that the Cross mining reporters are iu league with the Auckland brokers.
