(FROM our own correspondent. ) September 22. The DunedinjWaterworks Company’s Bill passed through committee without any material amendments being made. Mr Murray moved his resolutions in favor of the appointment of the Clutha river trust, and in] doing so said the v Clutha was more important'than the Nile. .ijThe debate has been adjourned. On the adjourned debate on Mr Farnall’s motion for the expenditure of a portion of the LIOO,OOO voted out of the loan, upon districts north of Auckland, the House affirmed the principle contained in the resolution. A committee has been appointed to consider the defences of the Colony. Mr Creighton has moved a reduction of the estimates by L 50,000. Mr Vogel is now (3.45 p.m.) speaking. The Otago Land Bill discussion will be deferred till next week. The Wellington members have unanimously agreed to support the Government on the Highways Bill. Mr Webster to-day v olently attacked Mr Bathgate, and was well dressed down by Mr Bunny.
