MAYOR'S COURT.
Tins Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) CATTLE STRAYING. James Armstrong was summonsed for unlawfully allowing three head of cattle to wander upon the north trunk road, and was fined 5s ASSAULT. Arthur Ford was summonsed for assaulting Anthony Bardon in Cumborlaml-street on Monday afternoon last. Anthony Bardon said he was coming along the end of Cumberland-street on Monday afternoon wheeling a grinding machine, when defendant came up with bis cab, and because he did not get out of the way quick enough was called a dammed old scoundrel, and was subsequently knocked down by him. Arthur Ford in defence, said plaintiff when asked to get out of the way swore he would, not, and on advancing with his cab, Bardon raised a bell he held in his hand, and in defence he pushed the mau down. If ho had not done so he would have been struck by the bell. His Worship considered both parties wore to blame, and as neither had brought witnesses to prove their case, he must dismiss the summons.
