AN EXPLANATION.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sir,—Having read your criticism oa my small pamphlet in your lagt issue, I beg to request tbe favor of your inserting this brief reply. Certainly no person, unless highly prejudiced, would be willing to write or speak after the style of the critic in this instance, and to select passages from any writer, without giving the context to show the connection and full meaning, is very unfair.—l am, &c., T'HOSj.
