Legal. — We believe that Iris Honor Mr Justice Ward will leave for Wellington to attend the Supreme Court there, about the 6th inst.
A Correction,— We have been requested by Mr J. Curie, Princes street, to correct an error which appeared in our Police Court report yesterday. In the case of Fraser v. Curie, it was stated in error that the day-bnok of Messrs Park and Curie was produced. Gaol Return. —The following is the state of Her Majesty’s gaol, Dunedin, for the week ending Oct, 2 Awaiting trial, 3 men, 1 woman; under remand. 0 men, 0 women ; penal servitude. 26 men, 0 women ; hard labor, 57 men, 10 women ; imprisonment, 1 men, 0 women ; in default of bail, 0 men. 0 women ; debtors, 4 men, 0 women; total. 91 men, 11 women. Received during the week, 11 men, I woman; discharged, 10 men, 2 women.
The Royal Alexandra Lodge of Dunedin, No. 3, will celebrate their second anniversary by a supper, ams Hotel, on Tuesday evening, October 5.
