Ihe groundfloor alone covering a space of over 9000 feet, devoted to retail trade only ; the first floor of like dimensions, composed of galleries and Show rooms ; the second floor devoted entirely to work rooms. Being a Stranger in New Zealand, These remarks are mentioned as introductory, indicative of past experience and ability warranting present intentions to open out a first-class business on principles in unison with those so successfully carried out in favor of the above firm.

Failing health, attributable to climate, acting under medical advice, to take a trip to England. The climate of New Zealand, spoken so highly of, and considered one of he healthiest in the world, I decided upon going to Otago as the largest shipping port; after a visit to the manufacturing districts of the North of England, including Huddersfield and Halifax. The Flannel Manufactories of North Wales, including Newtown, Montgomery, and Llanidloes, and taking advantage of the Liberal Discounts given by London and Manchester Warehousemen, and the extra inducements held out to cash purchasers of large parcels, combined with a thorough knowledge of the requirements of the Colonial Markets, and with a view to meet the wholesale trade of this season, the ship Mindora, having been selected as a fast ship, for the salmon ova, to make a quick passage. Failing this, I resolved at once upon opening them up for Detail sale, and I take this opportunity of returning my thanks to those Ladies who have favored me with their patronage in the small premises—at that time the only obtainable in a central position. I now have much pleasure in intimating to the General Public that I have secured roomy and commodious premises, situated in PRINCES STREET, Immediately opposite the Provincial Government Buildings. Which I purpose opening on or about 31st July, 1869, When 1 shall supplement my stock, which, for want of room, I have not had the opportunity of opening heretofore. have the honor to be, Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, RICHARD MILLS.
