MOSLEY REPLIES TO CRITICS
LONDON, December 18
Sir Oswald Mosley, former British Fascist leader, replying to criticisms of his meeting on Saturday, " told the Press: "Can anything surpass the impudent hypocrisy of the politicians who supported the .World War on the plea of preserving freedom of thought and speech and then made the victory echo with demands for the suppression of freedom in everyone except themselves?" He added that some people were indignant because they no longer had Defence Regulation 188 to suppress ideas and arguments they could not answer in fair .debate. They preferred to shelter behind political intimidation.
Of the total number of cases of cruelty reported to the S.P.C.A.'s inspector, nearly 75 per cent, proved, on investigation, to be. inspired by quarrels between neighbours' and without real foundation, said Mr. W. E. Mainwaring, chairman, at last night's meeting of the Wellington S.P.C.A
