HIGH TRIBUTES PAID

High ranking officers of tho three Services. Ministers of the Crown, representatives of Government Departments, and the Press Gallery, gathered in the office- of the Minister of Defence yesterday to. farewell Mr. F. M. Sherwood, who retired recently after 45 years' service as a public servant, of which 30 were in the capacity of a Ministerial private secretary. Those present included the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser), Mr. Jones, Mr. Adam Hamilton (a former Minister, with whom Mr. Sherwood served). Commodore Faulkner, Briga lier Weir, and Air Vice-Marshal Jsilt. Sincere tributes were paid to the tireless work which Mr. Sherwood had given to various Ministers. Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood were presented with a gift of silverware, and best wishes were expressed for their future success and happiness.
