SPRING-CLEANING THE CITY
(To the Editor.) Sir, —May we congratulate the City Council on its intention to "spring clean" our beautiful city. It needs it. We, its citizens, have been long-suffer-ing. For years we have endured packed trams, few buses, inadequate water supply, and shabby, unsealed, neglected'suburban approaches. Especially is this so in Northland, one of our neatest city suburbs. Now that the wars are over, our men returning and our rates up, we expect that at least we may have scaled footpaths and tidy, safe entrances to our homes, and soon! —I am, etc., NEGLECTED NORTHLAND.
