LOST AND FOUND
AIR FORCE BAND'S INSTRUMENTS
SYDNEY, October 28. A lorry containing instruments valued at £3000, the property of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, was driven away front College Street In the city last night by thieves. The lorry was parked near the Anzac Buffet, and during the temporary absence Of the driver two men were seen to enter it and drive away. Wireless patrol cars and all police were immediately put on the alert for the stolen lorry. The New Zealand Air, Force Band was to have given an open-air performance at Rushcutter's Bay Park last night, but it was cancelled because of rain. The concluding Sydney appearance is scheduled for tonight. The band.has visited more than 50 towns in Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales in support of the-fourth Victory Loan. This afternoon the lorry, with the instruments and 200 scores of; music, was found intact.,'atrCabramatta,.'about 20 miles from Sydney. ''■ The performance which the band was
to : have given at Boridi1 today' had to s. be cancelled, but the Sydney Police '--JBaftd and a . number of iother, local bands had offered to lend their instruments and music so that the performance tonight would be fulfilled.; However, as the instruments and music were recovered the New Zealanders were able to give the performance with their own equipment.
