MYSTERIOUS SMASH
P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, October 28. A mystery surrounds a car smash on the Main South Road ■ between Rolleston and Burnham about three o'clock on Saturday morning. A late model sedan car smashed into a concrete power pole on the Christchurch side of the Rolleston oil dump intersection. A military guard from the oil dump nearby said he went to investigate the smash, and saw two young men get out of the wreck and walk away. They told him they were going to obtain assistance, and made off towards Christchurch. They have not been seen since. . „ - , . . , In the car was a full stock of food provisions and clothes and several full tins of petrol. ,
