TRAINS DELAYED

P.A. TAUMARUNUI, This Day. A slip on the Main Trunk line between Waimiha and Poro-o-Tarao caused delay (in the arrival of the Auckland-Wellington express and the New Plymouth express, which were approximately six hours late in leaving Taumarunui. The north-bound express was held at Taumarunui until 2.30 a.m. while the line'was cleared. There was no major hold-up on the New Plymouth line. It is expected that normal schedules will be maintained on the Main Trunk and New Plymouth lines today.
