FIRE DESTROYS SUGAR
Rec. 11 a.m. BRISBANE, Sept. 30. About 14,000 tons of bagged sugar were destroyed in a fire at Maryborough sugar mill yesterday. The damage is estimated at £100,000. The fire followed an explosion in stacked sugar. It swept through the building so quickly that the workmen had no time to save their personal belongings.
