ITALY'S-POSITION
FOREIGN MINISTER REPORTS
ROME, Sept. 28,
Foreign Minister de Gasperi, who has returned from a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers in London, said that he considered the situation relatively favourable for Italy, although a definite agreement had not been reached. "Something has been achieved, another step taken towards understanding the whole situation, in particular of Veneza Giulia," he said. "I told the conference that we were pursuing a policy of work and considered the Italian colonies a possible outlet. We were treated with friendliness in London. Naturally, there is still some bitterness, but one must consider that there has been a war. . . "There is growing understanding of our difficulties and problems." Milan radio says that according to the Ministerial Committee on Reconstruction, unemployment in Italy is expected to reach 2,000,000 in the next few months. : .
