LIFT STRIKE ENDS
Rec. 9 a.m. NEW YORK, Sept 30. After the failure of attempts by Federal and municipal agencies to mediate in the five-days-old lift-drivers' strike. Governor ■ Dewey of New York called on the strikers and owners to place the dispute before an arbitrator. This has been accepted.
