NO MORE EMPIRE SHIPS
Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, September 11. No more "Empire" merchantmen are being built, says the "Evening Standard." All the ships built for the Government since 1940, and many taken over from enemy fleets, have been given names beginning with the word "Empire," building up the largest fleet of similarly-named ships in the world.
