DOWN THE BANK
One of the staff at Parliament Buildings, Mr. J." Lust, had bad luck with his car this morning. It was parked near the Bowen Street entrance to the old building, and in some way— possibly the brakes were not fully on and the wind started it—it ran down the bank and ended up with a crash into one of the pillars above the footpath. Glass w?.s shattered and the bodywork was > adly knocked about. The Chief of the Naval Staff, Commodore G. H. Faulkner, arrived at Auckland yesterday to make his first official visit to establishments in the district. He was accompanied by Commodore W. X D. Dowding, naval officer in charge at Auckland. Commodore Faulkner is inspecting H.M.S. Philomel and the dockyard at Devonport, and H.M.S. Tamaki at Motuihi Island. He will return to Wellington on Mon-
