SPADEWORK IN LONDON
LONDON, August 31. The groundwork of the United Nations' organisation has been earned out in London over, the past fortnight. The executive committee of the preparatory commission has been meeting, and today, the chairman, Dr. Wellington Koo, said he thought the first meeting of the assembly should be held early next year. Machinery had been set up for working out various problems such as the date for calling the assembly, social, and economic questions, and the new International Court of Justice. I The United States representative. Mr. G. R. Stettinius, has arrived at Southampton on the Q'^sn Mary to attend, the meetings of the preparatory body. ■
