WHAT DE GAULLE OBTAINED
LONDON, August 31. General de Gaulle reported to the French Cabinet this afternoon on his visit to the United States and Canada. A correspondent lists what are believed to be the general's main achievements including a long-term credit of £250,----000,000 sterling from the U.S.A., monthly shipments of 500,000 tons of coal, and supplies of machinary, ships, and raw materials, and American approval for the restoration of French rule in Indo-China. From Canada, General de Gaulle is believed to have secured a credit of £87,500,000 sterling and supplies of ships, machinery, raw materials, and wheat. Other matters discussed were the restoration of French property looted by the Germans, the future of the Ruhr and the question of bases, particularly in the Pacific. Britain and France have made an agreement which will free commercial credit between the two countries as well as restoring many of the rights which were blocked during the German occupation of France..
