Tokio radio states that the Japanese Government plans to hold a General Election in the near future on the basis of new ideas and thoughts, including freedom of speech and the Press The Diet is to meet on Saturday, when the Premier will call for a dissolution. _ • ~ , The Domei news agency reported that the Japanese Cabinet has removed some of the wartime restrictions on political activity and freedom of the Press. The liberalisations include the right of expression and assembly, but the restrictions will remain where activities are likely to compromise national policy or "threaten to disturb national unity."
