MR. TRASER CONGRATULATED

Congratulations to the Prime Minister on the stand he had taken at the San Francisco Conference were extended by the executive council of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants at a meeting at Wellington. The following resolution was passed:— "That we congratulate the Prime Minister on ,his recent speech at the plenary session at the San Francisco Conference and his subsequent appointment as chairman of the trusteeship committee. We believe that (1) a security charter for world peace can only be won if based on the principles of international Socialism, and that any other system or league will fail unless the common peoples are associated with it from the outset. (2) Only the wholehearted co-operation of the workers of all countries, wjthout exception, can make peace secure and progress possible. We therefore affirm that international labour must have its rightful place within the future world oi'ganisation."
