HITLER AND GOEBBELS
Reported To Be Suicides Rec. 2 p.m. LONDON, May 2. The Moscow communique reports that among the prisoners taken in Berlin was Dr. Hans Freich, Goebbels's lieutenant, who declared that both Hitler and Goebbels had committed suicide.
Another Nazi leader who took the same step was the newlyappointed Chief of the General Staff, General Krebs.
Other prisoners taken were Lieutenant-Generals Kurt Wettag, Walter Schlifs, and Dankwart, Vice-Admiral Voss, Chief of Staff of the Defence of Berlin, Colonel Hans Melchior, Chief of Staff of the 56th German Tank Corp, and Dr/,.
